New gateway

Tonight I have just configured new machine with NetBSD to become my new gateway. And now it is. Most features are already done (http, mysql, ipv6, shell). Only thing to configure is ejabberd and openvpn, which I'm using privately. So - here it is:

myrkr> uname -srm
NetBSD 4.0_STABLE i386

Here is dmesg from that machine.
PS: I just love PKGSRC_MESSAGE_RECIPIENTS, which send you mail with content of MESSAGE file of the package. :-)

IPv6 ready!

Today I have setup IPv6 on my home LAN. Now I can connect to websites, which use IPv6 with my unique address from my laptop. Most work was done on linux router, on client it was only one command:

# sysctl -w net.inet6.ip6.accept_rtadv=1

That's all. On Linux (router) except for setup tunnel to tunnelbroker it's only matter of configure and running radvd. And of course reconfigure some daemons to listen on IPv6. And now this site can be accessed both by both protocols. Hurray! :-)

A new old toys

In this week I've received two "new" older machines. One is Compaq, pIII 800MHz, which will be my new gateway instead of kashyyyk ( It has already installed NetBSD, and in this week I'll try to exchange the router. I have installed NetBSD 4.0 to get latest stable release of NetBSD.

The second machine is rather little: Palm Tungsten T. I have got it from my friend. One of its feature is Bluetooth, which I use to connect Palm to computer and to phone (e.g. to dial number from address book ;-)). It looks nice and is nice too ;) Probably that will be my primary mobile computer.
